Guide
Budget Espresso Kit Under $600 (Machine + Grinder + Scale)
Three separate pieces, added from U.S. maker list prices. This is not a box anyone sells. A total is “under $600” only when that total uses one stated price from each page and lands at or under $600.00.
The longer machine list is beginner espresso machines under $500. Espresso grinders are entry espresso grinders under $300. Scales are coffee scales under $50. This page does not repeat those lists.
The three prices used in every sum
A sum here is one machine price, plus one espresso-capable grinder price, plus one scale price. The grinder and the scale below are the ones with a single U.S. price that the page did not split.
- Grinder: Baratza Encore ESP, $199.95. High and low in the offer data are both $199.95. White, SKU ZCG495WHT1AUC1A, was marked in stock. Black, SKU ZCG495BLK1AUC1A, was marked sold out. The product description says it is for espresso. Source: baratza.com Encore ESP, checked October 2, 2026.
- Scale: Greater Goods Premium Coffee Scale, $30.99, in onyx black (SKU 0460), stone blue (0591), and birch white (0592), all marked available. No compare-at price. The page says a timer that counts up and down, and that it measures down to the tenth of a gram. Source: shop.greatergoods.com Premium Coffee Scale, checked October 2, 2026.
Those two pieces add to $199.95 + $30.99 = $230.94. That figure is not a kit. It is the grinder plus the scale, before a machine. Fellow’s Opus 2 in black is also $199.95 and was marked available (SKU 1222MB-NA), so swapping it for the Encore ESP does not change a total that already uses $199.95. Wood-lid Opus 2 colorways that were available were $249.95, which is $50.00 more. The Opus page still says both “stepless” and “48 adjustable settings.” Those phrases are not merged. Under $600, with the price each total uses
De’Longhi Stilosa EC260BK
The page labels a current price of $99.95 and an original price of $149.95, with “-33%” and “Lowest Price last 30 days $99.95.” Schema markup said InStock at $99.95. A list pricebook on the page is $149.95 and a sale pricebook is $99.95. Those labels agree. Warranty text does not: the product copy says “1 Year Warranty + 1 year with product registration,” and a nearby line says “2-Year included warranty.” This article does not merge those terms. Source: delonghi.com Stilosa EC260BK, checked October 2, 2026.
- Using the labeled current price: $99.95 + $199.95 + $30.99 = $330.89.
- Using the labeled original price: $149.95 + $199.95 + $30.99 = $380.89.
Both totals are under $600.00. They are not one price. $380.89 − $330.89 = $50.00, which is the gap between $149.95 and $99.95.
De’Longhi Dedica DeLuxe EC685M
One machine price was on the page: current price $279.95. Schema markup said OutOfStock, and the page said out of stock. Warranty text still disagrees: the product block says “2-Year included warranty,” and the page chrome says “Industry Leading 3 Year Warranty Included.” Source: delonghi.com Dedica EC685M, checked October 2, 2026.
- One total, because the machine page printed one price: $279.95 + $199.95 + $30.99 = $510.89.
$510.89 is under $600.00. It is $180.00 more than the Stilosa total that uses $99.95 ($510.89 − $330.89), and $130.00 more than the Stilosa total that uses $149.95 ($510.89 − $380.89).
Breville Bambino, BES450
The page still prints two machine prices and does not label them regular versus sale in the fields used here. Structured data: high $299.95, low $299.95, offer $299.95, SKU BES450BSS1BUS1, sold out. A U.S. channel record pairs display price $249.95 with list price $299.95 and marks that record not on stock. Both totals are shown. Source: breville.com Bambino BES450, checked October 2, 2026.
- Using the display price: $249.95 + $199.95 + $30.99 = $480.89.
- Using the list price, which is also the structured-data price: $299.95 + $199.95 + $30.99 = $530.89.
Both are under $600.00. The gap between them is $50.00, the same gap as $299.95 − $249.95. This page does not call $480.89 the kit price.
Over $600, shown as over the cap
These totals use the same Encore ESP at $199.95 and the same scale at $30.99. They are not picks.
- Bambino Plus, BES500, using the display price $399.95: $399.95 + $199.95 + $30.99 = $630.89. That is $30.89 over $600.00.
- Bambino Plus, using the list price $499.95, which is also the structured-data high and low: $499.95 + $199.95 + $30.99 = $730.89. That is $130.89 over $600.00.
The Plus page still pairs display $399.95 with list $499.95. Some channel records at that pair were on stock and some were not. Structured offers are $499.95. Source: breville.com Bambino Plus BES500, checked October 2, 2026. Neither Plus total is folded into an “under $600” claim. The machine alone at $399.95 plus the $199.95 grinder is $599.90 before a scale. Adding the $30.99 scale is what crosses $600.00 on the lower of the two machine prices.
The same machines with the Sette 30
The Baratza Sette 30 is $299.95, one offer, SKU ZCG1130BLK1BUC1A, marked in stock. The description is for espresso. Source: baratza.com Sette 30, checked October 2, 2026. It is $100.00 more than the Encore ESP. The scale stays $30.99. Grinder plus scale is $299.95 + $30.99 = $330.94.
- Stilosa at the labeled current price: $99.95 + $299.95 + $30.99 = $430.89. Under $600.00.
- Stilosa at the labeled original price: $149.95 + $299.95 + $30.99 = $480.89. Under $600.00.
- Bambino at the display price: $249.95 + $299.95 + $30.99 = $580.89. Under $600.00.
- Bambino at the list price: $299.95 + $299.95 + $30.99 = $630.89. That is $30.89 over $600.00. The same machine is under the cap with the $199.95 ESP and over the cap with the $299.95 Sette 30, if you use the $299.95 machine figure. If you use the $249.95 machine figure, the Sette 30 total stays under. Both are printed. Neither is dropped.
- Dedica at its one price: $279.95 + $299.95 + $30.99 = $610.89. That is $10.89 over $600.00. The Dedica total with the ESP, $510.89, was under.
- Bambino Plus at either printed machine price is over before you finish the arithmetic that matters: $399.95 + $299.95 = $699.90, already $99.90 over $600.00 with no scale. $499.95 + $299.95 = $799.90, already $199.90 over. The $30.99 scale is not added on top of an “under $600” claim, because the machine-plus-grinder pair is already over.
What this does not decide
- Which Bambino price the cart charges. $480.89 and $530.89 are both on the page. $630.89 is the Plus total that uses $399.95, and it is over the cap.
- Stilosa’s warranty. “1 Year Warranty + 1 year with product registration” and “2-Year included warranty” are both on the page.
- Dedica’s warranty. “2-Year included warranty” and “Industry Leading 3 Year Warranty Included” are both on the page.
- Opus 2’s adjustment. The page says stepless and it says 48 adjustable settings. A black Opus 2 at $199.95 matches the ESP price. A $249.95 wood-lid colorway does not. Adding $50.00 to the ESP totals above is the wood-lid swap. The Bambino list-price total would become $530.89 + $50.00 = $580.89, still under. The Plus display-price total would become $630.89 + $50.00 = $680.89, still over.
- A different scale. The Wacaco Exagram is $34.90, compare-at the same $34.90, marked available. Source: wacaco.com Exagram, checked October 2, 2026. It is $3.91 more than $30.99. The Stilosa current total becomes $330.89 + $3.91 = $334.80. The Plus display total becomes $630.89 + $3.91 = $634.80, still over. Other scales are on the scale page. They are not all re-added here.
None of that is a shot test. Which price the cart charges, and whether a sold-out color comes back, were not checked out.
What to check on the listing
- Add the three prices you are actually using. Do not average a display price and a list price.
- The cap is $600.00 for the three pieces. The Plus at $399.95 plus the $199.95 ESP is $599.90, and the $30.99 scale puts that set over.
- Stock. The Bambino offer was sold out. Dedica was out of stock. The Encore ESP in black was sold out. White was not. Stilosa’s schema said InStock.
- The grinder has to be one the maker describes for espresso. The regular Encore is not in these sums. That exclusion is on the grinder page.
